The three strars hotel “Città dei Mille” was always a point of reference about the hospitality in Bergamo ; the hotel was the first one to equip its rooms with frigobar.
Since 1999, the Chamber of Commerce awarded the Quality Badge and the hotel rooms often host journalists, people of the services, artists and show-biz people.
The hotel, favourite destination for business men, has also, a romantic feature due to its penthouse rooms which are in great demand because of their flower-decked balconies from which the splendid monuments crowing Bergamo Alta, can be admired.


The hotel name is a homage to the city : Bergamo was proclaimed Città dei Mille ( The City of the Thousand ) because of its contribution of men (167) to Giuseppe Garibaldi's 1000-man expedition, was the highest in the country. Bergamo people, among the others, were: Francesco Nullo, General Garibaldi's right hand, Giuseppe Tironi, 1000-man expedition's bugler and Luigi Adolfo Biffi, the joungest hero, not sixteen-year-old yet, died in Calatafimi. In the hall, a great number of original prints and a lock of General Garibaldi's legendary blond hair, are displayed in remembrance of those significant days.
